Hello fellow Abberly Residents! As I'm sure you're all aware, a destructive tornado hit the Athens, Alabama area on Monday April 28th. We were under tornado watches/warnings here too that day. I have a friend of mine visiting me that day from that area. Where he lived, in the community of Coxsey, was totally destroyed. He is going to be okay and I am so thankful he was here and not there as three of his neighbors were killed by this tornado. Although he is fine, his neighbors are not. He had a neighbor who is a single mom raising a 13 year old son who is paralyzed from Spina Biffita . His name is Johnny and his mothers name is Kathleen. Fortunately, Johnny's electric wheelchair was found unharmed after the storm passed. Nothing else was recovered. Johnny requires a special air mattress hospital bed as well as a lot of other necessary medical equipment. In addition, they're in need of every day things as well. You know, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, clothing, furniture, household supplies. If you can, please help.
