We are SUPER EXCITED to announce that your property, Abberly Place in Raleigh, NC took home the biggest award given at our annual awards banquet yesterday for COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR!!! This is an award that we share with you all.

We did have two individual awards given yesterday as well. Both Eric Bogacki and Lauren Booker were awarded Team Spirit awards for outstanding customer service and positive attitude about their community and work. We could not be happier as a team to share this with you all.

If you live in a home or apartment in Raleigh, North Carolina, here's a great hurricane awareness check list  to look at.

Secure Your Home

• Put freestanding objects inside
• Plan for your pets. Make sure you have pet food, collar and leash and crates, if necessary
• Designate a safe room with no widows or exterior walls.

Plan for Your Personal Safety and Security

• Keep emergency phone numbers by the phone; include out-of-state contacts for family members.
• Assemble an emergency preparedness kit (enough supplies for three to five days) with bottled water (one gallon per person per day), battery-operated radio or TV with extra batteries, first aid kit, flashlight and packaged snacks. Remember to include baby supplies and food, manual can opener, hand sanitizer or wipes, and extra house and car keys.
• Gather all necessary prescriptions and medical supplies to take at a moment's notice.
• Place all important documents -- including your insurance policies -- in a waterproof bag to take with you. Include documents like wills, deeds, birth and tax records, and marriage certificate, proof of residence, home photos, and driver's license and vehicle registration. Include house and car keys
• Take cash and change
• Listen to media broadcasts, especially paying attention to any calls for evacuation
• Call 311 (Emergency Evacuation Assistance) if a family member needs special care.

Check Your Insurance Coverage

• Flood and windstorm insurance are not automatically covered by renters insurance.
• Take photos of your home before the storm.
• Take camera to take photos of damage.

Did you know that portfolio.com ranked the Raleigh area as #3 on its list of Best Markets for Young Adults? They based this rank on growth rate, cost of living, percentage of college educated, etc.  They asked the question: where is it good to be a young adult? And the answer came back to them: lots of places, starting with Austin, but number 3 is Raleigh, NC.

The Southwest is the new frontier for young Americans, the area of the country where 20 and 30 year olds have the best chance of establishing themselves in a recessionary economy.

Five Southwestern metropolitan areas, led by  Austin, rank among the nation’s 10 best places for young adults. And, Washington, Raleigh, and Boston are the three runners-up in the study’s rankings of the best places for young adults.

Portfolio.com/bizjournals analyzed the 67 U.S. metropolitan areas with populations above 750,000, searching for qualities that would appeal to workers in their 20s and early 30s. The study’s 10-part formula gave the highest marks to places with strong growth rates, moderate costs of living, and substantial pools of young adults who are college-educated and employed.

Raleigh was ranked on top for many reasons. This is the fastest-growing major metro in the nation. The population of the Raleigh area is increasing by 3.9 percent per year. That’s more than triple the pace for the typical market which is 1.2 percent. Another North Carolina metro, Charlotte, placed at 28 in the rankings.
