April showers bring May flowers, especially at The JC Raulston Arboretum which is a nationally acclaimed garden in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Arboretum is eight acres and has one of the largest and most diverse collections of  plants adapted for the Southeast. Plants especially adapted to Piedmont North Carolina conditions are collected and evaluated in an effort to find superior plants for use in southern landscapes.

The plant and flower collections are expansive and include over 5,000 species of annuals, perennials, bulbs, vines, groundcovers, shrubs, and trees from over 50 different countries, which are displayed in a beautiful garden setting.
But don’t miss the annual Gala in the Garden, which is being held at the JC Raulston Arboretum on Sunday, May 1st, May Day, from 3-7pm.

On May 1st the Arboretum is closed to the public while they host the Gala in the Garden, but The JC Raulston Arboretum is free and open to the public 365 days each year from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
