Community Bulletin Board

We do have an area on our website where you can list items you want to sell. If you look under resources on AbberlyPlace.com, you will see a drop down screen that will say Community Bulletin Board. From here you can list items that you are wanting to selling (including us…we have some fantastic pieces that we have removed from our models that are practically brand new).

There is a place where you can post job opportunities, events through the area, etc. It is free and we will publicize the items for you. Take advantage of this service we offer. We want to make sure that we are constantly working on things that will make life easier for you. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.

Abberly Place Apartments May 2012 Newsletter

Your Opinion Matters

We really appreciate everyone giving us so much good feedback during our Resident Contact last month. We always want to know how you feel about your living experience at Abberly Place and what we can do to enhance it more.

We also want to thank all of those residents who have taken the time to fill out our Resident Survey at abberlyplace.com. For those of you who haven’t had a chance yet, please take a few moments to complete the survey. Just click here. Your feedback is very, very important to us. Again, thank you!!

Back By Popular Demand...
It’s Abberly Idol Time

Clear your schedule for Monday, May 21st. Abberly Idol is back and you won’t want to miss it! For those of you who love to sing, get your voices in tune and sign up to perform at our very own version of American Idol. Abberly Idol had been a huge success in past years so we thought we would bring it back. Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson were booked for other events (less important ones, of course), so Jennifer Lopez will be accompanied by two guest judges.

Welcome Christina Aguilera from the popular show, “The Voice” and Simon Cowell who returns to his old stomping grounds while on break from the “X-Factor”. We will have a DJ with a karaoke machine and books full of songs to choose from. Sign up ahead of time by calling the office at 877-567-9157 or emailing us at abberlyplace001@myltsmail.com.

There will be food, drinks and tons of fun! Also, the winner will receive a $200 credit toward June’s rent and the runner up will get a $100 credit toward June’s rent. So, as Randy would say, “Whose gotta have it?”

Air Filter Changes

The Service Team will be changing air filters in the following buildings during the month of May;

Phase 1

5/9 – 1000 Pine Walk Circle
5/10 - 800 Pine Walk Circle

Please make a note for yourselves if your building is on the list above. We ask that you kennel or secure all pets and please disarm alarm systems for that day.

We change your air filters so that your heating/air conditioning unit works more efficiently. Thank you for your cooperation.

Apartment Building Power Washing Schedule

As we mentioned before and as you have probably seen, the buildings are being pressure washed during the period of 4/30 – 5/9. The schedule did get changed and shifted due to some areas that needed more attention than planned. As of now, the schedule is as follows;

Please be sure to remove anything from your patio/deck area that could be damages during the pressure washing. If any other changes are made, we will post it to our website, www.abberlyplace.com and on Facebook. Thanks for all of your cooperation.

Resident Activity Center

We have noticed that there have been a couple of parties set up in the RAC (Resident Activity Center) over the last couple of months and we hate to rain on anyone’s parade, but we have to address this when we see it. This is a reminder that the RAC is not available for renting nor is it a place for resident to have any types of parties, showers, or gatherings of any kind. The “two visitors per apartment” rule, applies to the RAC as well as the pools and gyms. We want the amenities to be open and available for all residents to come and go as they please without feeling as though they are intruding on someone else’s gathering. Thank you for abiding by this policy in the future.

Pool Season Is Here!

As most everyone knows, the pools are finally open! Please remember that there are pool rules posted at each pool and we ask that you take time to read them and abide by them.

Some, but not all rules are:

  1. No pets allowed inside the pool or the pool deck areas.
  2. No more than 2 guests at a time allowed per apartment.
  3. No glass containers of any kind allowed in the pool areas.
  4. No horseplay or rough housing allowed.
  5. No one allowed inside the pool areas before 10:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m.

Thank you all in advance!

The Susan G. Komen Race for The Cure

As we have mentioned in our two previous newsletters, Abberly Place is putting together a team to represent our community and how much a cure for breast cancer means to us. Some of you may have been diagnosed with breast cancer and/or have had friends and loved ones diagnosed with breast cancer.

Please join us on June 9th to walk or run in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We have created very attractive, Abberly Place T-shirts that show that we, as a team, can make a difference. You can stop by our office and check it out. You will receive one of these as well as another T-shirt from the foundation.

Please register at abberlyplace.com or at www.komennctriangle.org and make a difference this year for this very important cause. If for some reason you are unable to participate that day, but would like to contribute to the cause, you can make a monetary donation online and be there in spirit. Thank you all in advance!

About the Susan G. Komen Foundation

Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with her heart, body and soul. Throughout her diagnosis, treatments, and endless days in the hospital, she spent her time thinking of ways to make life better for other women battling breast cancer instead of worrying about her own situation. That concern for others continued even as Susan neared the end of her fight. Moved by Susan’s compassion for others and committed to making a difference, Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.

That promise is now Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982. As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, we’re working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, we have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

Every 69 seconds a life is lost to breast cancer. Your gift may save a life.

Grilling Season Is Here!

In the Spring and Summer, there is no better fare that something fresh off of the grill! For those avid “Grill Masters”, we provide two grills at both of our pools and we have two freestanding ones. One of these is located on Phase 1 in front of the 800 building and the other one is on Phase 2 beside the dog park and corn hole boards.

The free standing grills are equipped with propane tanks provided by Abberly Place. We check these daily and replace the tanks as needed. We ask that everyone please remember to turn the gas off once you have used the grill. You have to not only turn the grill off, but you then have to turn the gas tank off as well. If you do not do this, the gas just runs until it empties.

Also, please make sure that you wipe off any of the “leftovers” that may have fallen onto the grill and scrape the grill cooking surface with the provided brush. This gets it ready for the next person who would like to use it. Thanks for helping us take care of the amenities so that they will always be in good working condition for you.

To Rent or Buy?

Examining Market Options in 2012

To buy or not to buy? That is the question.” Taking a cue from Hamlet, this question is on the minds of many people contemplating moving.

“Many are taking advantage of this slightly-down market by buying, while others are opting not to buy at all, but rather to remain renters until the economy and/or their own fortunes are more favorable for securing a mortgage and purchasing property,” says Marilyn Harra Kaye, president of MLBKaye International Realty Inc. “Real estate has traditionally kept up with inflation, but the buyer knows in the short run about their finances, stability and needs, so paying for it becomes a personal issue.”

“What is going on right now is a lot of economic instability and political instability, and beyond that, the restrictions are in place on people looking to secure mortgages has become incredibly stringent compared to the hey day,” says Gary L. Malin, president of CitiHabitats. “I think a variety of factors are playing into people’s minds that make them consider renting.”
