We do have an area on our website where you can list items you want to sell. If you look under resources on AbberlyPlace.com, you will see a drop down screen that will say Community Bulletin Board. From here you can list items that you are wanting to selling (including us…we have some fantastic pieces that we have removed from our models that are practically brand new).

There is a place where you can post job opportunities, events through the area, etc. It is free and we will publicize the items for you. Take advantage of this service we offer. We want to make sure that we are constantly working on things that will make life easier for you. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.

Water Billing Company Change

Dear Resident,

In May 2012, YES Energy Management, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Yardi Systems, Inc., acquired ista Multifamily Inc. With the acquisition, YES Energy Management became one of the largest providers of utility billing and energy management services in the United States.

What does this change mean for you?

Your account numbers and billing information remains the same. However, over the next couple months you will start to see the YES name replacing ista Multifamily on our websites, billing statements and other correspondence. Your next monthly billing invoice will have the YES Energy Management logo as seen above.

Please do not disregard the invoice. Upon receiving your first invoice from YES Energy Management, you must continue to make payments as per the terms of your lease agreement and the instructions on your invoice. If you have questions, please call the customer service phone number on your bill.

Resident Advantage Program

We hope that all of our residents are enjoying the discounts that are offered from our Resident Advantage Program. If you are not aware of what that is, it is a program that we have worked out with 40 plus local businesses who have agreed to offer some type of discount to Abberly Place Residents.

Some of these places are restaurants such as TGIFridays, LaCocina, Napper Tandy’s, Aversboro Restaurant and Sports Bar and recently added, Kaze’. There are salons such as Vanity Spa and Color Bar, Salon at Main St., and A Day at The Beach Tanning Salon.

You can see a list of all of the businesses that participate and if you visit our website, www.abberlyplace.com. If there are any businesses that you would like to see added, let us know and we will see what we can do. Enjoy!

Air Filter Changes

The Service Team will be changing air filters in the following buildings during the month of October; Please make a note for yourselves if your building is on the list above. We ask that you kennel or secure all pets and please disarm alarm systems for that day.

We change your air filters so that your heating/air conditioning unit works more efficiently. Thank you for your cooperation.

Breezeway Power Washing Schedule

Our Service Team will continue to pressure wash breezeways on a rotating basis throughout the fall and winter months as long as weather permits.

Please take note if your building is on the list. We ask that you remove anything outside your front door area and to place a towel on the floor inside your apartment to prevent water from coming in.

Valet Dry Cleaning

This is just a reminder that we offer valet dry cleaning here at Abberly Place. The Valet Service will come by our office and pick up your items and return them to our office the next day. How’s that for service?

You never have to drive anywhere to get your dry cleaning done. To find out more information, you can go to abberlyplace.com or visit the website, www.MyPVS.com. Here you should find a general price list and registration forms. Please feel free to call us with any questions you may have.

Need Space?

We have garages and storage units available for those of you who need some extra space for the fall. Some people need a place to hide those special holiday gifts and others might just want to have a shelter for the car for the winter months.

No matter the reason, you can never have too much space for storage. Just give us a call to inquire. Prices and availability change daily so don’t delay!

Thanksgiving is November 22nd, and we want to wish all of our valued residents a very happy day. We hope that everyone will get the chance to spend time with loved ones and give thanks for all things.

Rent vs. Buying

How many times have you heard “paying rent is throwing away money; I could be building equity”.

Don’t be so quick to make that assumption. During the first five years of a mortgage, more than 80% of your mortgage is interest. Remember, everyone gets as standard deduction on their taxes that sometimes is the same as interest on a mortgage payment.

Nearly one-third of all home owners move within the first five years before they start building any real equity. Add in closing costs, higher maintenance expenses, higher utilities, taxes, insurance and realtor fees to see the house and many of us would actually SAVE money by renting instead.

Owning a home is not always a cost efficient house decision, but more of a lifestyle choice.

The holidays are coming quickly and everyone looks forward to the great feasts that we enjoy during those times. Certain people in every family are in charge of making their "special" dish for the celebration and they take pride in doing so.

What is your special dish? Do you wish to share with your neighbors? We would love to hear some of your recipes and what you do to put your personal touch on it. Please email us your recipe for a main dish, casserole or dessert and we will choose from them and post one each month in our Newsletter. Pay Online and Get Paid Back...

We are challenging our residents to sign up for Abberly Place’s online payment options. You will just need to go www.abberlyplace.com, and click on Residents and Pay Online. You will set yourself a profile so that each month, you can just log in, click and pay.

Our goal is to increase the number of online payers by 50 people each month. If we get an extra 50 people to sign up for our online payments, we will do a drawing from all online payers and the winner will receive $100 off the next month’s rent. It only takes a few minutes so there is nothing to loose and $100 to gain!

Short Term Rental Apartments

For those of you who might not know, we offer fully furnished apartments to rent by the day. These are perfect for those out of town guests that want to come and visit for a long weekend or for the holidays.

You can also reserve these for business partners that may have to come to the Raleigh area on business. They can stay here and enjoy the convenience of the shopping center, use all of the amenities and have easy access to I40.

We have a one bedroom apartment that rents for only $60/night and a two bedroom that rents for $80/night. If you would like to reserve one of these, please call our office at 919-772-6545. There is no deposit required and payment is taken when you pick up the keys.
