April Fools' Day
We all know that April Fools' Day, or All Fools' Day, is the first day of April. No one knows where the custom began, but some historians believe it started in France. They had a New Year's festival that was celebrated from March 25 to April 1, and they would then exchange gifts. But, later King James IV changed the holiday to January 1 for New Years. The people that still celebrated it April 1 were called 'April fish' and sent mock presents. Who will you be “fooling this year?!
Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.
NCAA Championship Game
Who still has a perfect bracket? If you do, then you are doing better then anyone else in the nation that is for sure! There were some upsets early on this year which means a lot of busted brackets. We do have one local team remaining in the tournament and they have a great shot to win it all. UNC went into the tournament as a number 1 seed and they have proved themselves along the way playing nearly perfect. UNC will match up against Syracuse (a number 10 seed) while Villanova will play Oklahoma in the final four. Who do you think will be this years champion?!
Pool season is here whether we are ready for it or not! Even though it may still be cold outside, warm weather is right away the corner. Our pools will be opening up in April and the date has not been determined just yet. We have to wait for The Wake County Inspectors to come out to inspect the pools before we can open them. Please keep in mind that there are pool rules that have to be followed.
Some, but not all rules are:
- No pets allowed inside the pool or the pool deck areas.
- No more than 2 guests at a time allowed per apartment
- No glass containers of any kind allowed in the pool areas
- No horseplay or rough housing allowed
- No one allowed inside the pool areas before 10:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m. Please let us know if you have any questions about any of the Pool Rules.

Rent vs. Buying
In today's economy, with unpredictable lay offs and relocations, people are choosing to rent housing versus buying a home. Renting offers short term obligation for those people who are uncertain what their financial standing will be in the near future.
If your company decides to downsize or relocate, you will not be locked into a 30 year mortgage. Most apartment communities offer flexible lease terms and options to break a contract if something unfortunate, like a job loss, happens.
Also, with renting an apartment, you will get the convenience of onsite amenities and benefits such as fitness centers, swimming pools, business centers and 24 hour maintenance. You will never have to replace an appliance or do any home repairs. This saves time and money.
Breezeway Pressure Washing
Our Service Team will be pressure washing the following buildings during the month of April. Please take note if your building is on the list. We ask that you remove anything outside your front door area and to place a towel on the floor inside your front door to prevent water from coming in. Thank you.
