Heart yourself (and others)
This month, give tender love and care to your heart, and then share it. Just a little attention can make that muscle strong.
-Go on brisk walks often and pump up your heart rate.
-Include heart-healthy foods, like whole grains, in each meal.
-If you sit a lot during the day, take breaks to stretch and increase circulation.
-Send a care package to a loved one.
-Support a friend who wants to quit smoking or lose weight.
Lend an ear to someone who wants to vent and be empathetic toward their plight

Rent vs. Buying
In todays economy, with unpredictable lay offs and relocations, people are choosing to rent housing versus buying a home.
Renting offers short term obligation for those people who are uncertain what their financial standing will be in the near future.
If your company decides to downsize or relocate, you will not be locked into a 30 year mortgage.
Most apartment communities offer flexible lease terms and options to break a contract if something unfortunate, like a job loss, happens.
Also, with renting an apartment, you will get the convenience of onsite amenities and benefits such as fitness centers, swimming pools, business centers and 24 hour maintenance.
You will never have to replace an appliance or do any home repairs. This saves time and money.

The Abberly Place
During the month of February, we have decided to so something fun and adventurous for our residents. Each day leading up to Valentine’s Day, we are going to hide a big bear holding a heart somewhere though out our community. It could be inside of the clubhouse, at the pool, in a tress, it could be anywhere that our residents have access to. We are asking that our residents go and find the bear, take a picture of the bear (we would prefer a selfie) and email it to us. You can also post this on our facebook page. If we receive a picture/selfie we will put your name in a drawing to receive a $50 gift card and box of chocolates!
We will only be putting The Love Bear out on Monday-Friday (the 2nd-6th and 9th-13th). We will do the drawing at close of business on Friday, the 13th. This may be a scary day that is known for bad luck, but we are hoping that this day will be just the opposite for you! We are looking forward to seeing all the pictures and we hope that each and every one of you participate in this fun event. Please email all pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org

Time Warner Cable
We are very excited to announce that TW will be upgrading resident services for FREE! In February they will be adding 11 additional Showtime channels, including Showtime On Demand, and will be changing everyone’s internet service to wireless. For residents who already have additional services with Time Warner, those accounts will be upgraded first.
Once those are done, they will begin upgrading the other accounts. When this change takes place, the equipment that is installed will be placed in the resident’s name and will make it much easier for residents to obtain assistance from Time Warner when needed. As soon as we receive more details about this, we will notify all residents. Stay tuned!
Pick Up Your Poop
Yes, your dog’s poop is your poop. Your dog is not capable of picking up poop after himself/herself so as a pet owner, this is your responsibility. As we have said before, this is not an option. This is the law and it is also the law to keep your dog on a leash. If you can not be a responsible pet owner, this is not the place to be.
It is a privilege to have a pet here, it is not a right. If you find that you are struggling with picking up after your pet, maybe you should read your lease paperwork to refresh your memory. We do not take this issue lightly and if you see someone not picking up after their pet, please contact the office with a description of the pet owner and the dog.
Soda or Water
What’s in a number? Recent data shows that the average American drinks 1.5 cans of soda each day, which equates to about 6,000 calories a month. If you swap those cans for zero-calorie water you will eliminate thousands of empty calories from your diet. Even if you drink diet soda, water is still a much healthier choice. This is pretty interesting right?
