Community Bulletin Board

We do have an area on our website where you can list items you want to sell. If you look under resources on AbberlyPlace.com, you will see a drop down screen that will say Community Bulletin Board. From here you can list items that you are wanting to selling (including us…we have some fantastic pieces that we have removed from our models that are practically brand new).

There is a place where you can post job opportunities, events through the area, etc. It is free and we will publicize the items for you. Take advantage of this service we offer. We want to make sure that we are constantly working on things that will make life easier for you. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.

Valentine’s Day

The Q-Shack @ North Hills

Super Bowl 50

Who is ready for some football?!?! Our own Carolina Panthers will be facing the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50. The game will take place on February 7th at 6:30. Both teams had incredible seasons and are both the number one seeds in their division. This will also be both Ron Rivera and Gary Kubiak first Super Bowl Game as head coaches. This is Cam Newtons 5th year playing in the NFL with his best season yet. 

With that being said, Peyton Manning has been playing in the NFL for almost 20 years and has only one Super Bowl victory. Who will be hungrier…the youngster or the veteran? What this all boils down to is, Super Bowl 50 should not be a disappointment. While the game will keep us on our toes, so will the halftime show. This year ColdPlay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars will be preforming during the halftime show. We do not know about you, but we are ready for Super Bowl Sunday!!!


Compactor Areas

When it comes to the compactor areas, there are several residents who fail to place their trash in the correct areas. We have areas for trash, cardboard boxes, and an area for recycling. We find bags of trash placed in the area that is meant for recycling, trash bags thrown on top of the cardboard box bin, and just trash left by the brick wall. This is unacceptable and not only do we expect more, but other residents do as well. This is your home and you deserve for the grounds to be clean and the trash areas to look nice. 

While we have increased trash pick up and hired a company to remove larger items on a regular basis, this is still a huge concern of ours. We placed directional signage in these areas last month and while it has helped some, there are still some residents who put their trash where ever they please. We need your help! We need for everyone to place their trash in the correct place. We need for everyone to break down their cardboard boxes before putting them in the bin (clearly states this on the bin).

It is not hard to do this and if everyone could do this, it would keep that area neat and clean. If you see anyone placing trash in an area other then the trash compactor, please contact our office with a description of the resident along with the car they are driving. 

We are not trying to be harsh, but we have to get this under control. We appreciate your cooperation and we are looking forward to seeing a drastic improvement! Thank you!!

Cheesesteak RITZwich

Ingredients:

  • 36 Ritz Crackers
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped green peppers
  • 3 frozen thinly sliced beef steak (torn into pieces)
  • 2 tbsp. Kraft Easy Cheese (squeeze cheese)

Procedure:

PLACE 18 crackers, top sides down, on large tray or platter.
COOK and stir onions and peppers in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 1 to 2 min. or until crisp-tender.
ADD meat; cook 2 to 3 min. or until browned and heated through, stirring frequently.
SPOON meat mixture onto crackers on tray; top with cheese snack. Cover with remaining crackers, top sides up, to make 18 cracker sandwiches.


Air Filter Changes

The Service Team will be changing air filters in the buildings listed below during the month of February. Please make a note for yourselves if your building is on the list below. We ask that you kennel or secure all pets and please disarm alarm systems for that day.

We change your air filters so that your heating/air conditioning unit works more efficiently. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rent vs. Buying

In todays economy, with unpredictable lay offs and relocations, people are choosing to rent housing versus buying a home. Renting offers short term obligation for those people who are uncertain what their financial standing will be in the near future. Pick After Your Pet

“It shall be unlawful for any person in charge of a dog to fail to remove feces deposited by the dog on publicly owned property,” (City code sec. 12-3011-B)

IT’S IN THE LEASE
“Pets must be “walked” away from apartment premises. The resident is responsible for cleaning up pet wastes; failure to do so will result in a $25 penalty” (Pet Addendum to the lease agreement)

IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO
“Resident agrees that if, in the opinion of the management (based on complaints) the pet becomes a nuisance, the pet must be removed or legal action will be initiated.” (Pet Addendum to the lease agreement)


Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day is a traditional holiday celebrated on February 2. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will persist for six more weeks.
