Going on Vacation?
Are you planning that vacation this summer that you have been dreaming of….we hope you enjoy where ever your heart takes you! Don’t forget to alert the post office to hold your mail during that long trip. You can go by the Garner Post Office and fill out a hold form or go to the website, holdmail.usps.com. Have fun!
Father’s Day is June 21st. We would like to wish all of the Abberly Place Father’s a very Happy Father’s Day! We hope that your day is full of love!
Please Follow The Rules!
We have noticed that some folks have not been following the rules when it comes to our amenities. You are only allowed 2 guests per apartment when using the amenities. This does not mean it is ok to bring 1 extra person to the pool or the gym…you are only allowed 2 guests.
Also, please keep in mind that we do not allow baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, and things of this nature in the Resident Activity Center.
As the weather gets warmer, people tend to plan more events and parties, but please make sure that you do not plan on having a party here because it is not allowed. We are taking this very seriously. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact our office.
Fruit and Veggie Sneak Attack
You know fruits and vegetables are essential for good health, but sometimes life gets hectic and you don’t get enough of them in your diet. Here’s how to sneak them in:
~Whip up an omelet. Mix bell peppers and spinach-which are in season this month.
~Add them to your pasta. Don’t limit this favorite dish to tomato sauce-pile on onions, beans, or zucchini for a flavor and filling meal.
~Make a crumble. Strawberries, apricots, blueberries or a wild mix of the three in an oven-fresh crumble is a refreshing summer dessert option.
~Grill ‘em. Those grill marks can add a delicious touch to veggies and fruit. Make a healthy kabob with lean meat or chicken, mushrooms, pineapple, and potatoes.
Resident Activity Center
We have noticed some very inappropriate behavior taking place in the Resident Activity Center. Most of the time this is happening at night, but there have been occasions where this has happened at different hours throughout the day. We do have a camera system in the Resident Activity Center so please keep this in mind the next time you are thinking about doing something inappropriate. If we catch you during an inappropriate act, or see you or one of your occupants on camera acting inappropriately, your key fob access will be blocked and you will no longer be able to use any of the amenities that we have. Thank you for your attention to this.
A Few Facts About
The Month Of June
Did you know that June is the month with the longest daylight hours of the year in the Northern Hemisphere? In 2009, June was the 662 most popular girls name in the USA. In both common and leap years, no other month begins on the same day of the week as June. While the Northern Hemisphere has the longest daylight hours in the month of June, the Southern Hemisphere has the shortest daylight hours in the month of June. Lastly, the June birth flower is the Rose (Rosa) and the Honeysuckle (Lonicera).
Water Bill Transition
As many of you know, we have made some changes with the way that the water bills are paid. With that being said, we know that several of you are still not receiving a bill. You should still receive a hard copy bill from YES Energy.
We have contacted them about this and expressed how important it is for our residents to receive a hard copy bill. They are working on this and in the near future, everyone should receive a bill. If you do not receive a bill, please contact our office and we can print a bill out for you. The water bill should be included in the rent for the month, so that you make one total payment instead of two.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we really appreciate your patience while we adjust to this transition.
North Carolina Waterfalls
Do you need somewhere to vacation this summer? We have the perfect place for you to visit, and it is right here in North Carolina!
Welcome to one of the most beautiful places on Earth - the mountains of western North Carolina!
There are literally hundreds of waterfalls and miles and miles of hiking trails in this area - you could spend a lifetime trying to see everything.
Western North Carolina is blessed to have over a million acres of national forests, national parks, state parks, and other public lands for our enjoyment and use.
The Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests comprise most of this land and offer multiple uses including hiking, water, mountain biking, camping, and horseback riding. Our state parks offer the same activities and contain some of the lesser know hidden jewels.

Rent vs. Buying
How many times have you thought that a mortgage payment would be less than your rent at Abberly Place?
Few prospective homeowners truly appreciate how expensive annual maintenance on a house can be. On average, you should expect to spend 1% to 2% of your home’s value on maintenance costs each year. On a $200,000 home, that is $2,000 to $4,000 a year in maintenance.
And that does NOT include property taxes, homeowner’s insurance, home improvement, decorating or any additional landscaping that you decide to do. Home ownership also requires a different type of budgeting discipline. You need to be prepared for the unexpected such as replacing a water heater, a leaky roof, a broken AC/heater, etc.
As a resident of Abberly Place, you have the convenience of knowing exactly what your monthly housing will cost. Our excellent Service Team will take care of your maintenance needs!

Save Money On Your Water Bill
Water conservation is important during the summer months and can really help you manage your water bill.
We wanted to give you some quick and easy steps to save water during summer peak season.
Not home a lot? Wait until your dishwasher is completely full before running it. You can do the same with laundry; try not to do many different loads, wait until you have a full load before washing, this saves on water as well.
We all love those nice big garden style tubs, but try limiting yourself to indulging in that long soak just once a week instead of daily. Take quick showers instead.
Also, did you know while brushing your teeth and leaving the water running, you allow an average of 7 gallons of water to be wasted each time?
Try turning the water off while you brush. You could save an average of 434 gallons of water a month!!
Try these tips and you will be pleasantly surprised when you get the next bill.
